Use from as a preposition to

1. Indicate a starting point of a movement
example : We drove from Montreal to Toronto

2. Measure between points
example: I work from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m

3. indicate a starting point of an action
example : My husband called me from work.

4. Indicate the source.
example: She got the information from John.


Use of as a preposition to :
1. indicate the cause or reason of an action
example: He died of a heart attack.

2. indicate the content.
example : I drank two cups of coffee this morning.

3. indicate belonging.
example: I met the queen of England.

4. describe a characteristic of a person.
example: He is a man of great courage.
